Regional Support Team

Book a centre visit

The team is on hand to support you in the delivery of existing and reformed qualifications. They provide guidance to teachers, senior management and exams officers on our range of qualifications, online resources and tools, CPD and curriculum developments. They also give another link with our subject experts in Cardiff through curriculum clinics.

Catherine has extensive experience in the secondary education sector. Formerly she was Head of English at a large sixth form college in Lancashire and an exam board officer. As such she was closely involved in the development of specifications and teaching resources – experience which serves her well in her present role.



David Jones

Before joining the team Dave had a long career teaching geology and geography in a sixth-form college. He has also had a number of assessment roles at WJEC, including most recently that of principal examiner. This background in varied aspects of education has prepared him well for the position of regional representative.

As a former Humanities teacher and further education lecturer, David has experience of teaching a range of subjects. He has been involved in the development and assessment of qualifications for many years, which gives him a wealth of insight into the issues teachers face. Additionally, David is a higher education reviewer for the QAA.

Jonathan started working as an examiner with WJEC in 1995. A former English teacher, he has been involved in specification development and assessment for many years. This has given him a broad knowledge and understanding of educational issues, and is a solid grounding for his present role.
