Keep your certificates safe

‚Äč

Whilst the summer examination series and collecting your results might feel like a long time ago, many schools and colleges will now be issuing your certificate(s) to record your achievements in your general and/or vocational qualifications.

Why is it important that you collect your certificate(s) and keep them safe?

There are a number of reasons why you should keep your certificate(s) safe, we have identified 4 top reasons why you should do so:

  1. You may decide to go on to university or continue with further studies, the qualifications you have achieved open doors to these institutions, and in many cases, institutions would need evidence of these qualifications. Your certificate(s) is evidence of your achievement(s), without this, there are no assurances that you have achieved the qualifications and/or grade which you have listed.
  2. Some of you may enter the job market, as part of the recruitment process employers have the right to ask you for evidence for the qualifications you have included within your application/CV. Your certificate(s) will evidence this.
  3. Your school/college is responsible for retaining your first certificate(s) for a year, after this, they can be destroyed and you will have no evidence of your achievement(s).
  4. If you lose your certificate(s) this will ultimately cost you. Whilst we issue your first certificate(s) for free, replacements can be issued, but with an associated fee. We strongly recommend that you keep your certificate(s) in a safe location.

Your certificate(s) is a physical record of your achievement(s), it reflects your hard work and dedication. Make sure you collect them and/or keep them safe, you never know when you will need this in the near or distance future.
