Coronavirus: Ofqual launches consultation on 2021 exams and assessments

Today, Ofqual has launched its consultation on their proposals for assessing general qualifications in 2021 and guiding principles to determine the approach for vocational and technical qualifications.

Following the closure of schools in light of the coronavirus pandemic, and the ongoing commitment for exams and assessments to be taken in 2021, Ofqual proposes the following within their consultation regarding general qualifications:

  • adaptations to free up teaching time
  • contingencies for future public health safeguards
  • sampling of subject content, where appropriate
  • possible changes to the exam timetable

The consultation opens 2 July 2020 and all responses must be submitted to Ofqual by 16 July 2020.

WJEC Eduqas welcomes this consultation and will take into account views of a range of stakeholders in submitting its response to Ofqual.

Further information on the consultation is available on Ofqual's website
