Commenting on the announcement, Ian Morgan, Chief Executive, said: “As a leading provider of both general and vocational qualifications, Eduqas is committed to offering learners innovative pathways to develop their knowledge and skills. These new qualifications represent an exciting opportunity to create qualifications that combine academic learning with industry-relevant vocational content. Our Qualification Development team will work closely with practitioners, employers and other stakeholders from across the country to ensure these qualifications reflect current industry practices and support learners to progress successfully into their chosen futures.” |
V Levels
Available from September 2027, V Levels are new Level 3 vocational qualifications that will sit alongside A Levels, providing learners with greater flexibility to combine academic and vocational study within a single programme.
The new qualifications are designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to progress confidently into higher education, apprenticeships or employment.
V Levels will be introduced in phases over a four-year period. Eduqas has committed to developing qualifications in the first three subject areas scheduled for delivery from September 2027:
- Education
- Accounting and Finance
- Digital Systems and Data
Each qualification will provide learners with a broad and adaptable route to further study, apprenticeships or employment, helping them build both subject knowledge and transferable skills.
Level 2 qualifications
The new Level 2 qualifications consist of Foundation Certificates, which are designed to prepare learners for Level 3 study, whereas Occupational Certificates will focus on supporting progression into employment. Similarly to V Levels, rollout will begin in 2027, and Eduqas has committed to developing the following:
Foundation Certificates:
- Digital Systems and Data
- Education
Occupational Certificates:
- Culinary Skills
- Early Years Practitioner
- Hospitality
