"We are thrilled to see Criminology recognised in the Government’s proposals for V Level qualifications. This development reflects the value and relevance of the subject, and we look forward to engaging fully with the reform to ensure our expertise and the needs of our centres and learners help shape this new qualification." |
Claire Granger, Criminology Subject Officer at Eduqas, added:
"Criminology develops critical thinking, research, and analytical skills that prepare learners for university and careers in policing, law, social policy, and the wider criminal justice sector. The introduction of a V Level offers exciting opportunities to support progression and choice for post-16 learners, ensuring this subject continues to play a meaningful and valued role in education and society."
The proposal to develop a V Level in Criminology forms part of the Government's consultation on post-16 pathways at Level 3 and below. Alongside the development of V Levels in a wide range of subjects, the consultation also outlines proposals to develop new Level 2 pathways to enhance learner progression and choice.
We want to thank our centres and stakeholders for their continued support and commitment to Criminology. Together, we will continue to ensure that learners have access to qualifications that are both relevant and valued.
