Anna Smith

Anna Smith is a film critic and broadcaster. She is a regular film critic for BBC News, Sky News, BBC Radio, Time Out, Metro, The Guardian, Sight & Sound, Empire and more. A writer, pundit and Q&A host, she regularly interviews actors on stage, on screen and in print. Before specialising in film, Anna was the first woman to become the Editor of a UK dance music magazine, Wax. She dedicated herself to film writing in 2000 and has become a valued contributor to many high-profile channels and publications, and has enjoyed stints as Film Editor of both Time Out and Metro. She currently hosts the Girls on Film Podcast.

Edgar Wright 

Edgar Howard Wright is an English director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. He is best known for his comedic Three Flavours Cornetto film trilogy consisting of Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007), and The World's End (2013), made with recurrent collaborators Simon Pegg, Nira Park and Nick Frost. He also collaborated with them as the director of the television series Spaced. His latest film ‘Last Night In Soho’ features The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy is due for release later this year.

Michael Sheen

Michael Sheen is a Welsh, RADA-trained, multi-award winning actor and director. He made his debut featuring in When She Danced with Vanessa Redgrave, and made remarkable stage performances in Don't Fool With Love, The Seagull, The Homecoming, Henry V, Look Back In Anger, and Romeo and Juliet. His performance in Calligula earned him three Olivier Awards, and he has starred in a string of hit movies including The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Frost/Nixon, and The Damned United. He is currently filming Season 2 of police thriller, The Prodigal Son.

Sara Pascoe

Sara Pascoe is a multi award-winning stand-up comedian, actor and writer. Her work on stage, screen and page combines the personal, political, and observational. She's written and performed in her own radio series and BBC sitcom, is a bestselling author, and is a regular on panel and stand up shows. As a stand-up Sara has performed on Live at the Apollo and Stand Up for the Week, and hosted Dave's answer to TED, Comedians Giving Lectures. She’s also appeared on Taskmaster, QI, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, and Mock the Week, and Radio 4’s The News Quiz and Just A Minute. She is currently starring in Last Woman on Earth and Out of Her Mind – both available on BBC Iplayer.

Jo Whiley

With a twenty-five year affiliation with BBC Radio and extensive prime-time television experience, Jo Whiley helped to bring Nirvana to our televisions and Arctic Monkeys and Amy Winehouse to our radios. Jo presented Top of The Pops, and along the way became a celebrated radio and television personality. As part of a station shake-up, Jo Whiley became the first woman to present a primetime drivetime show in 20 years, when she took to the microphone alongside Simon Mayo before becoming a hit in the evening show slot.

Peter Lord CBE

Peter Lord is a British animator, producer, and director who cofounded Aardman Animations in 1972. The studio produces stop-motion animated films usually with claymation puppets, and is behind such critically-acclaimed films as Chicken Run—which Lord directed—Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Flushed Away, and Shaun the Sheep Movie, along with numerous TV projects and commercials. In 2012, Lord directed Aardman’s first 3D stop-motion film, The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Lord has overseen Aardman’s expansion into VR and gaming and along with co-founder David Sproxton, has transformed the company into an employee-led organization.

Kate Leys

Kate Leys is a feature film script editor who works on projects at all stages of development. Recent completed films include Benjamin by Simon Amstell, London Film Festival & UK 2019; How To Fake A War by Rudolph Herzog 2019; American Animals by Bart Layton, Sundance & worldwide 2018; Pin Cushion by Deborah Haywood, Venice 2017 and UK 2018; Kingdom of Us, a feature doc by Lucy Cohen London Film Festival 2017 & Netflix. She also often works informally with writers and filmmakers to develop story at early stages: recent projects she has contributed to include Dark Horse for Raw starring Toni Colette; Do Not Hesitate for Shariff Korver and Jolein Laarman; Lady Macbeth Toronto & Sundance 2017; I Am Not A Witch by Rungano Nyoni Cannes and London 2017; Dark River by Clio Barnard Toronto, London 2017.  Kingdom Of Us, Lady Macbeth and I Am Not A Witch were all nominated for Best Outstanding Debut at the Baftas 2018.

Sarah Gavron 

Sarah Gavron debuted as a director with Brick Lane, which earned her an Alfred Dunhill Talent Award at the London Film Festival. Prior to this, Gavron's first full-length drama, the Dennis Potter Award-winning This Little Life for BBC TV, won her the TV BAFTA for Best New Director, both Royal Television Society and Women in Film and TV Awards for Best Newcomer. She was then selected as one of Variety's ten 'directors to watch' at the Sundance International Film Festival. Her feature documentary The Village at the End of the World (2013) won the Margaret Mead Award. Suffragette (2015), winner of two British Independent Film Awards. Her most recent critically acclaimed feature film Rocks (2019) is available to watch on Netflix.
