1. Duolingo - Learn Languages Free

Why not use this time in isolation as an opportunity to learn a new skill? Duolingo will teach you a whole new language, while also giving you the chance to chat with others around the world.

2. Houseparty

If you’re struggling with not having face-to-face interactions with your friends then Houseparty is a must-download. The app is a social network where users can connect with loved ones through video chats.

3. SuperCook: Recipes By Ingredient

This cooking app finds recipes from its database of over 1 million recipes using ingredients that you already have in your cupboards, so you won’t need to pop to the shops before making your evening meal.

4. Couch to 5K

Research shows that putting in the miles keeps you healthy from the inside out but taking up running can seem pretty daunting, especially if you feel out of shape. Here’s where the NHS Couch to 5K app comes into play. This plan is for absolute beginners that will help you gradually work up towards running 5K in just 9 weeks. Ready, set, download!

5. Simply Yoga

Simply Yoga is a great way to get some stretches in, which can help with breathing, posture and boosting your mental wellbeing. Select either a 20, 40 or 60-minute routine and get going. Each pose is demonstrated by a personal trainer so you can get your technique just right!

6. Wordfeud

Bored of playing cards with your household? It’s time you got on Wordfeud. Much like Scrabble, Wordfeud is a puzzle game where you challenge others to find high scores when landing on a double letters, double word, triple letters or triple word tiles. You can either challenge friends or be matched up against random opponents.

Concern about the coronavirus outbreak is perfectly normal, it’s important however to focus on the things you can control, such as how you act, who you speak to and where you get information from. This invaluable app allows users to search trusted NHS information and advice about COVID-19 symptoms and provides instant advice or medical help.
