Talented filmmakers shortlisted for our 12th annual Moving Image Awards
We are thrilled to announce the shortlisted finalists for our annual Moving Image Awards, which is now in its 12th year.
The Awards, launched in 2014 in collaboration with the British Film Institute, celebrate outstanding work by Film and Media Studies students aged 14–19 in schools and colleges across the UK. Over the past 12 years, the Awards have recognised more than 50 emerging filmmakers, many of whom have gone on to pursue careers within the creative industries. The competition continues to attract support from leading figures in the film world, including film critic Anna Smith and screenwriter Kate Leys.

Commenting on this year’s shortlist, Eduqas Film Studies Subject Officer Dr Jenny Stewart said: "The Moving Image Awards is now in its 12th year, and we are continually inspired by the creativity and originality shown in each submission. Narrowing the entries down to a shortlist was a real challenge for our judges, who were thrilled by the standard of work. We are incredibly grateful to the teachers and students whose dedication makes this possible, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the upcoming ceremony." |

Celebrating diverse talent
Each year, our esteemed panel of judges review submissions and selects a shortlist before choosing a winner in each category. This year, there are six categories: Best Short Film, Music Video, TV/Film Extract, Animation, Screenplay, and ‘One to Watch’.
Once again, the judges were impressed by the exceptional quality of entries, which highlight a wide and diverse range of filmmaking talent. Previous shortlisted works and winners can be explored on our YouTube channel.
