Thank you from our Chief Executive

Thank you from our Chief Executive

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of all of us at WJEC Eduqas, I would like to extend our personal thanks to you for all your hard work during this particularly difficult academic year.

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented us all with new challenges over recent months, particularly following the cancellation of the summer examinations. However, we have been extremely grateful to the innovative support our teachers have presented to their learners in the face of these obstacles.

I would like to thank you once again for submitting your Centre Assessment Grades and Rank Ordering, our expert Research Team is now working with Ofqual to ensure that your learners receive a fair grade for all their hard work. We also appreciated the positive feedback we received from schools and colleges to the support we offered during this time, including direct access to our Centre Support Team and our Subject Specific Guides.

To prepare you and your learners for Results, further information will be issued via our website, email and social media channels over the coming week. I encourage you to share these materials with your colleagues and learners and we welcome any feedback. Of course, due to the current situation, and to ensure we are able to respond quickly and effectively to your query, we advise you to send us an email, rather than contacting us by phone.

Looking ahead, our Subject Experts and Digital Resources Teams are already preparing material to support you in the new academic year. This includes the launch of our new Professional Learning Programme, which will be delivered exclusively online this year. Rest assured you will continue to receive the very highest levels of support, advice and guidance, whilst having the flexibility of being able to take part in a range of courses from your home, office, or classroom. The full timetable is available to view online via our Professional Learning webpage.

Our unbeatable range of free digital resources are being further expanded, and will support a blended approach to learning. All resources are available free of charge, and have been developed specifically to support the delivery and learning of our qualifications. Visit our Digital Resources website to access these today. Furthermore, our Digital Resources Team welcomes all forms of feedback and suggestions, simply email resources@eduqas.co.uk.

Finally, I would like to thank those of you who took part in Ofqual’s consultation on proposed adaptations to our Eduqas general qualifications in summer 2021. The outcomes will be made available by Ofqual in due course, and further guidance on how this applies to our qualifications will be issued to you by our Subject Experts early in the autumn term.

I would like to thank you again for all your support and wish you all a safe and restful summer break.

Best wishes

Ian Morgan

Chief Executive
