Level 1/2 Vocational Award in Construction and the Built Environment (Technical Award)
Following the Department for Education’s recent announcement regarding the introduction of Vocational GCSEs, we would like to reassure centres that WJEC Eduqas Technical Awards will continue to be available until these new qualifications are introduced.
We remain committed to supporting centres and learners throughout this transition period and will continue to provide clear guidance and updates as further information becomes available. Centres can therefore continue to deliver and plan with confidence while future qualification arrangements are confirmed.

This qualification contributes to the ‘open’ element of DfE KS4 school performance measures (Progress 8 and Attainment 8).
Our Vocational Award in Construction and the Built Environment will develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of the sector and provide them with opportunities to enhance their practical skills. In addition, learners will explore different ideas and concepts of the built environment and gain knowledge and understanding of a range of professional and trade roles.
