Eduqas Regional Representative Hayley Sheard shares her journey and passion for her current role in supporting educators across the country:

"Before joining Eduqas, I dedicated over 15 years to teaching. Most of my experience was at a large Sixth Form college where I taught Drama and Media Studies, and I also led as Head of Department.

I worked as an examiner and moderator for many years, which was a fantastic experience and certainly something I’d recommend— so do apply if you’re interested in joining the team

I've presented CPD training and authored educational resources, and I spent some time as a Subject Advisor for Media Studies at Eduqas before joining the team.

The opportunity to support teachers nationwide with a range of our qualifications attracted me to the Regional Rep role.

Our work involves advising new centres on transitioning to Eduqas and supporting existing centres that teach our specifications. We aim to ensure that all teachers have the information and resources they need to confidently deliver our qualifications.

A typical day involves a mix of face-to-face and online meetings with centres— although every day brings a new set of challenges and opportunities! As the Rep for Creative Arts, Media, and English, my activities can range from explaining the structure of our A level Music specification in the morning to exploring the assessment criteria for GCSE English Language in the afternoon.

I also take pleasure in showcasing our extensive range of free digital resources—from knowledge organisers and exam walkthroughs to interactive blended learning tools. We have an abundance of materials to support both new and experienced teachers in the classroom. Why not explore what’s available for your subject on the Eduqas Digital Resources website?

The most fulfilling part of the role is receiving positive feedback about our qualifications and playing a small part in assisting teachers and learners to meet their potential. It’s incredibly rewarding when a teacher expresses confidence in delivering one of our specifications and preparing learners for their assessments.

The best aspect of working at Eduqas is the people. It’s a truly friendly organisation, and everyone is committed to providing an excellent level of service to our centres."
